The Chemical society of Pakistan wishes to select new 25 IUPAC affiliate fellows for the period Jan. 2015- Dec 2015. M.Phill/ Ph.D students or fresh employees below the age of 35 years are eligible to apply. All interested CSP members fulfilling the criteria are requested to apply on most immediate basis enclosing C.V and intention to pay the DAK charges if selected . This carry the following benefits.

• Increase awareness of IUPAC work and how to participate in IUPAC activities.
• Six copies per year of the IUPAC news magazine “Chemistry International”.
• A 25% reduction on the cost of all IUPAC books and Pure and Applied Chemistry Journal.
• A 10% reduction on the registration fees of IUPAC sponsored conferences.


This offer is free as it used to be in the previous years. However each selected IUPAC Affiliate had to pay Rs 2000/- (one time) in advance to cover DAK expenses through a draft payable to the Chemical Society of Pakistan. Non CSP members can also apply and if selected they have to take CSP( life) membership as well apart from the DAK charges.

The last date to apply has been fixed as 30th of November, 2014.

  • Selection of CSP Fellows for the year 2014.

    Detail:

This is to inform all CSP members that we are in the process of selection of CSP fellows for the year 2014. Selection criteria approved by a select committee attached with this mail may please be consulted. All interested are requested to apply through an email message and enclosing the following documents:

1. A properly filled in/ assessed selection criteria proforma enclosed with proper marking to be done by the applicant himself/herself. 50% marks constituted a minimum criteria to apply.

2. A copy of recent CV.

3. An intention to apply and work in future for future CSP activities.

4. Enclose a draft/cheque of Rs. 5000/- as processing fee payable to the Chemical Society of Pakistan.

5. A reasonable number upto 6/7 will be recommended for selection to the committee which may meet in early July. 2014.

6. Last date for submission of applications/intention message has been fixed as 15th April. 2014 and no application will be entertained after this date.

7. Please note the cases not finally/approved by the committee would be entitled to the refund of Rs. 5000/- soon after the decision.

According to the recent assessment of research achievements for the period of 2011-2012 by PCST, three faculty members of the Department of Chemistry, Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad have been placed in Category (A) in the Discipline of Chemical Sciences A. This has been published by the Pakistan Council of Science and Technology in RPA list 2011-2012. These include: • Prof. Dr. Saqib Ali • Dr. Aamer Saeed • Dr. Ilyas Sarwar. All CSP members congratulate the above recipients and wish them more honors in future.

Membership drive for new Chemical Society of Pakistan life membership is being launched for two months w. e. f 15-4-2012 to 15-6-2012.All interested, M.Sc, M.phill, or Ph.D students, Teacher/Research worker are requested to take advantage of the situation and become life members of the society. Young present, or would be, CSP members, below the age of 35, who introduces 10 new life members would be automatically selected as IUPAC affiliate fellows for a period of one year starting w. e. f May 2012 to May 2013.   • The Country Coordination centre in Chemical Sciences

    Detail:

The Country Coordination centre in Chemical Sciences (CCCCS) has been special designed to act as the Central Office of the Chemical Society of Pakistan. It has recently been built at the premises of the Quaid-i-Azam University near the Department of Chemistry and is working under the administrative control of the Chairman Department of Chemistry QAU. The staff provides all the services required by the members of the executive council of the Chemical Society of Pakistan and keep a close contact with them for the dissimilation spread and application of the knowledge of the chemical sciences in this country.
