Prof. Dr. M. Raza Shah Honored with Hajra Biloo Gold Medal

Prof. Dr. M. Raza Shah, President of the Chemical Society of Pakistan (CSP) and Director of the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi, has been awarded the prestigious Hajra Biloo Gold Medal for National Health Research in Basic Sciences. The award recognizes his outstanding contributions to health and education in Pakistan.

He received the medal during the 6th International Medical Research Conference, organized by the Health Research Advisory Board (HealthRAB) at the Getz Pharma Auditorium in Karachi. Prof. Shah also holds the UNESCO Chair in Medicinal and Bioorganic Natural Product Chemistry and is a member of the WHO Expert Advisory Committee on Traditional Medicine Trials.

An accomplished researcher, Prof. Shah has over 520 publications, numerous patents, and multiple national and international awards, including the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz and the Khwarizmi International Award. He has made notable contributions in nanomedicine and clinical research, leading multiple Phase I–III clinical trials.

Vice Chancellor of the University of Karachi, Prof. Dr. Khalid Iraqi, and Prof. Dr. Atta-ur-Rahman extended their congratulations. Members of the Chemical Society of Pakistan also congratulated Prof. Shah on this remarkable achievement and lauded his continued contributions to the scientific community.
